intel i3 vs i5 vs i7 vs i9 (cores, cache size, threads , turbo boost & generation, wattage)

Main difference:

i3 no turbo speed with multithreading.
I5: with turbo boost no multithreading, more cache size
I7: turboboost & multithreading more cores.
I9. More cores more cache size

Generation to generation change:

Generally low base speed with max speed better for cpu/heat lower power consumption.
newer generation comes with low base frequency and high with turbo boost.
1.Increase in cores,
2.cache size,
3.low power consumption
4.cpu speed variation
& More (there is much more difference in processor or model even in same generation,be sure check check with processor model)
Every processor has different specs in even in generation
I7 10th model
I7100u has 4/8 cores, i7100h 6/12
I79th gen 9750 has 6/12 cores
ex: 5th gen i3 5000U beats 2nd Gen i5 2520M
same cache size, cores 2/4, clock speed 2ghz
But i5 base clock speed 2.5 while turbo 3.2ghz
More speed = more heat more dan sound.

Turbo boost

dynamically increase cpu clock speed whenever needed.
not in i3 till now
I5,i7,i9 do have
I3 tend to low click speed, with dual core with hyperthreading.

Cachesize

// usually i3 tend to has low
Cacce size =  more cpu speed i3<<i5<<i7<<i9
Speed: i3 low, i5 low to high, i7 bit more speed &
Cpu Cache : by speed L1>l2>l3>RAM>>SSD>>HDD 7000RPM >>HDD5000RPM

Cores/threads:

ever cpu core handles one task, if multithreading/ logical cores 1 crore into 2 logical cores handle two tasks/process/thread called hyper threading.
Hyper threading // (i5 Don’has in desktop ex: 4/4 laptop 2/4, desktop 6/8 laptop 4/8)
Cores: more cores in i7
TPW/power consumption

How to upgrade processor /laptop /desktop

Run cpu z software find the socket number, just search on google compatible processor with that socket number
or check present processor socket number in intel’s website &supported ram types. If your processor only supports ddr4 mostly older laptop don’t have ddr4 memory slots.
ex: elitebook 8460p runs with i5 2520M
So i goto intel website to see motherboard socket type/number.
i found this PPGA988 , so did Google PPGA988 i7 list or within intel website do a search.
(All 2nd gen processors i7,i5,i3) cpu world website gives more info.

Intel Core i7-3940XM 4/8 vs 2/4 l3 cache size: 8MB vs 3MB

Core i5-3320M Processor lenovo ThinkPad t430 but same specs except codename.
Speed: 3ghz to 3.9ghz vs 2.5Ghz to 3ghz (but more heat).(most common culprit when a motherboard fails is heat)
We can also use external cooling system).
I have  motherboard failed laptop ( i7 1st and i5 3rd gen) . Changing processor simple as ram, hdd.
Note every processor has different in cores in same generation.
I5 no multithread so users goto i7.
